JOB TITLE: Underpayment Resolutions Team Leader
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES - Assists Underpayment Resolution Manager with the training of the
resolution department. Performs daily discrepancy resolution and coding.

SUPERVISES - N/A
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Provides introductory and ongoing training and education to staff to ensure that policies and procedures are
followed
• Meets with the Manager regularly to effectively communicate and resolve issues, set and prioritize goals and
improve processes
• Assists with staff communication, providing updates, resolving issues, setting goals and maintaining standards
• Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, patient, and customer service policies
• Assist with payroll activities for team members (i.e., time cards, edit sheets)
• Assist manager with development and implementation of department and project action plans
• Perform second validation of discrepancy reason code assigned by the Discrepancy Analyst
• Contact payer and initiate request for payment
• Perform appropriate follow up with payor for payment as appropriate
• Escalate contract issues to the Manager
• Practice and adhere to the ¡§Code of Conduct¡¨ philosophy and ¡§Mission and Value Statement¡¨
• Other duties as assigned

• Interpersonal skills - able to work effectively with other employees, patients and external parties
• PC skills - demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required
• Policies & Procedures - demonstrates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and
systems
• Basic skills - able to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, punctuate
properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately
EDUCATION
• High school diploma or GED required
EXPERIENCE
• At least one year of related experience required
• Prior supervisory experience preferred
