Job Summary – The Training Developer is responsible for efficient and effective development, maintenance and delivery of content-specific curriculums. This individual will work closely with subject matter experts to assure course content and delivery meets the needs of targeted audiences. Skilled in facilitation and interpersonal communication, this team member also consistently demonstrates solid organizational skills, time management, and professionalism.
Duties (included but not limited to):

  • Assist in performing an annual education needs assessment as input to the strategic educationprogram

  • Collaborate with leaders to determine the most costeffective method for trainingbased on the topic andaudience

  • Learn new concepts,content, and processes quickly and turn knowledgeinto effective trainingprograms and materials

  • Develop content, deliverand support training initiatives for various groupsusing a variety of delivery methods including classroom-based, 1:1, self-instructional materials, job aids, virtual classroom, and webinars/web events

  • Apply adult learning concepts through program content and delivery

  • Consult with team leadersand/or instructional designers to increase expertise in course design

  • Utilize desktoppublishing and graphicspackages, simulation software, and audio/visual technology, where appropriate, to produce professional and effective training materials

  • Maintain templatesand standards for consistent course development and delivery(eg. instructor evaluation processes, standard course content,development methodologies)

  • Demonstrate professional and appropriate interpersonal communication with staff of all levels

  • Manage multiplepriorities while adhering to deadlines

  • Provide expertiseand assistance to instructors, team members, and other locations, as needed

  • Ensure completion of all trainingadministration activities associated with training delivery; provide training reports to leaders,as needed

  • Communicate opportunities for improvement in course materials

Job Requirements

Communication - communicates clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing. This includes utilizing proper punctuation, correct spelling and the ability to transcribe accurately.

PC skills - demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required

Basic skills - able to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately

  • Energy- consistently maintains high levels of activity or productivity; sustaining long working hours when necessary; operating with vigor, effectiveness, and determination over extended periods of time

  • Stress Tolerance- maintains  stable performance under pressure or opposition (such as time pressure or job ambiguity); handles stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and the organization

  • Learning Strategies -  working knowledge and application of learning sciences, adult learning principles,education delivery methodologies and evaluation

  • Learning Technologiesworking knowledge and applicationof learning technologies to support education development and implementation. Including learning management systems, virtual classroom delivery tools and education development software: Captivate, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, screen capture, and audio/video technology.

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Learning Sciences
Equivalent work experience may substitute for the degree requirement

2-3 years of experience required in content design and development and training delivery
1 year of experience in content development for virtual classroom delivery
