Job Description

JOB TITLE: Systems Analyst
 
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES - Identify opportunities for greater efficiencies through process improvement, systems integration and assist in the implementation of these solutions.  Develop, administer, maintain and/or implement database designs, data access, and end user documentation.
 
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for installed applications.
  • Write documentation for systems in assigned area to support users during installations, modification and upgrades in accordance with RCOM standard practices.
  • Conduct problem analysis for IT&S applications/modules
  • Document changes requests and reported problems along with communicating results of remedial action taken.
  • Write detailed specifications for programming requests and system interfaces.
  • Ensure appropriate facility/market testing of enhancements prior to installation.
  • Provide and/or coordinate training and support for staff in applications developed
  • Develop and provide ad hoc reports.
  • Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement"
  • Other duties as assigned

  • PC skills -
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of Microsoft Desktop environments.
  • Strong familiarity with NT, Microsoft Exchange, VPN/Internet, networking, and systems security administration required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend extremely complex technical information both on the computer monitor and on printed material formats.  Must be able to engage in telephone conversations with users of computer systems and vendors of Hardware/software required.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of relational databases, including SQL queries.
  • Policies & Procedures - demonstrates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems.

 
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems preferred.
  • Two years progressive computer information systems installation and maintenance experience preferred.

 
EXPERIENCE
  • Two years progressive computer information systems installation and maintenance experience preferred.
  • Relevant education may substitute experience requirement

PHYSICAL DEMNADS/WORKING CONDITIONS -  Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stopping and stretching.  Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.  Requires normal lifting papers or boxes up to 25 pounds occasionally. Work is performed in an office environment.  Work may be stressful at times.  Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people.  Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.
