Parallon's paid Summer Internship is designed with you in mind!
As a wholly owned subsidiary of HCA, we are focused on preparing you for a future career in healthcare operations. By immersing participants in revenue cycle operations through beneficial training opportunities, our Summer Interns gain access to a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the critical roles responsible for successfully operating hundreds of healthcare facilities across the country. This valuable opportunity will last the duration of the summer and Interns are expected to work a full time schedule. Temporary lodging is also provided, if needed.
 
Job Summary
Individuals selected for the Parallon Summer Internship will complete projects and training assignments at the Parallon Shared Service Center to further enhance their management and technical skills, while also learning about the healthcare revenue cycle and the various departments responsible for supporting our hospitals.

Duties (included but not limited to):
• Program participants must complete scheduled training and/or project assignments.
• During the program, candidates will assist assigned members of management/leadership and work on division projects, as needed, to further enhance their management and technical skills.
• Candidates must participate in and meet the requirements of all applicable college/university program requirements to remain in the program.
• Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and the “Mission and Value Statement.”
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills,& Abilities
• Candidate has demonstrated the ability to excel and outperform peers in coursework and/or entry level positions.
• Candidate is viewed by peers as an informal leader.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and experienced in databases.
• May require long work hours
• Conducts self in a professional, competent and ethical manner.
• Demonstrates the ability to present and sell new ideas and programs.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

EDUCATION
• Current enrollment in an accredited college/university
• Bachelor or Master Degree in Health Care Administration/Management, Business Administration/Management, Finance, Accounting or related field of study.
• Competitive GPA of 3.25 or higher
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye‐hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Requires lifting papers or boxes up to 25 pounds occasionally. Work is an office environment. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations
 
OSHA CATEGORY –

The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Persons who perform these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid, or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
