GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES - The Team Leader at the Payroll Service Center possess a solid background in payroll-processing activities. This individual performs the payroll processing function; including but not limited to, entry and maintenance of time keeping edits, adjustments, voluntary deductions, involuntary deductions, and review/analysis of applicable payroll reports. Additionally, the
Team Leader assists the Manager in providing guidance to payroll staff and performs some of the more complex payroll functions. The Team Leader also assists the Managers during the coordination and integration of facility payroll processes to the Payroll Service Center during the Legacy payroll
consolidation and Lawson system migration processes. A Team Leader will transition from processing payroll in the Legacy system to the Lawson system, based on established migration schedules. This position, in general, is responsible for daily payroll processing functions, is a key contact for facility
personnel (based on assigned facilities), and is a resource to payroll staff.
SUPERVISOR - Manager, Payroll Service Center
• Possesses a detailed understanding of Legacy payroll system, Kronos time and attendance
software, and Lawson payroll functionality
• Completes some of the more complex payroll functions; including, ensuring that payroll files have been generated and transmitted for assigned facilities, quarterly and year-end balancing
• Acts as a resource to Payroll Service Center staff; providing guidance and assistance as directed by the Manager, assists with training on on-boarding of new staff
• Provides timely feedback to Manager, ensuring timely issue escalation
• Adherence to company Policies and Procedures
• Facilitates strong customer service relationships
• Communicates and participates in problem resolution processes
• Assists facility personnel/applicable accounting staff in research and resolution of payroll transactions as applicable
• Adheres to Payroll Service Center internal control processes; including payroll balancing procedures
• Participates and assist in the development of applicable training programs
• Provides feedback and makes recommendations for changes to applicable forms/tools and processes
• Sets appropriate example for staff by maintaining a positive attitude regarding customers, leadership, and the work at hand
• Stays abreast of multi-state regulatory requirements and company policies
• Performs responsibilities to help ensure department benchmarks and goals are met or exceeded
• Maintains confidentiality with all payroll information
• Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”
• Other duties as assigned by the Manager

Job Requirements

• PC skills - demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required; ability to quickly learn new PC skills
• Assisting in Project Management - assesses work activities and allocates resources appropriately, as directed by the Manager
• Advanced education preferred, but not required
• High School diploma or GED required
• Minimum 2 years payroll processing experience
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Experience with healthcare payroll preferred
• Experience in a consolidated, multi-state payroll environment preferred
• Certified Payroll Professional considered a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS - Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing
and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Requires lifting papers or boxes up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work is performed in an office environment. Work may be stressful at times.
Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.
