Insurance Notification Coordinator - Richmond, VA – Full-Time

Parallon supports healthcare providers in the area of revenue cycle (billing, collections, denial management), technology, patient registration, insurance verification and health information management.
 
 
JOB DUTIES (including but not limited to):
  • You will be responsible for submitting insurance notification to the insurance companies based on their requirements in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure that eligibility and benefit information is documented for patient accounts.
  • Professional communication with facility case management staff, insurance companies and facility registration personnel.
  • You will accurately interpret managed care contracts and is proficient in the use of the Contrak system.

  • Communication - communicates clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.  This includes utilizing proper punctuation, correct spelling and the ability to transcribe accurately.
  • Customer orientation - establishes and maintains long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations
  • Interpersonal skills - able to work effectively with other employees, patients and external parties
  • PC skills - demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required including: Outlook, Excel and internet navigation.
  • Policies & Procedures - demonstrates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems
  • Basic skills - demonstrates ability to organize, perform and track multiple tasks accurately in short timeframes, have ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple demands, ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team player,  adaptability, analytical and problem solving ability and attention to detail and able to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately.

Job Requirements

  • One year of related experience required.
  • Two to three years with medical insurance experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10 codes and medical insurance is preferred.
  • Medical/Health Insurance experience is strongly preferred.
  • You will need to pass a typing test with scores of at least 30wpm and 3 or fewer errors prior to interviewing.
  • Must have strong customer service skills.
  • High school Diploma or GED required.
