This position is located onsite at the Tampa HIM Shared Service Center in Largo, FL

Job Summary – Under the supervision of the Shared Services Center (SSC) IT&S Director or the HSC designee, the HPF Appropriate Access Analyst functions as the primary technical resource responsible for performing HIPAA Appropriate Access Audits in HPF and Meditech. Utilizes multiple
computer systems to perform duties. HPF access audits performed and reported according to the ISAM Framework Document. Facilitates State data submission process ensuring data corrections and approvals are complete by designated timelines. Performs comparisons of patient demographics in source system
(Meditech) and makes decisions concerning duplicate data and link data related to the same person under a unique medical record number. Works to ensure the integrity of patient demographic data through the remediation of multiple duplicate medical record numbers ensuring MEDITECH and HPF are in sync.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform HPF Appropriate Access Audits timely according to the HSC Appropriate Access
Roles and Responsibilities policy identified in ISAM
• Quarterly, A designated sample of HSC and Facility HPF user view and print activity reviewed and reported according to protocol
• Quarterly, A designated sample of HPF locked record access reviewed and reported according to protocol
• Responsible for maintaining complete and accurate records of all HPF access audits and the outcomes of those audits
• Responsible for obtaining updated lists of HPF users quarterly
• Reports potential inappropriate access to the users Manager for investigation
• Communicates with management staff on outcome of investigation to ensure inappropriate
access is reported to appropriate FPO for evaluation and reporting
• State data correction/submission – responsible for reviewing and correcting errors according to established timelines and protocols. Also must correspond with facility HIM Leader to ensure
data approval process completed within stated deadlines
• State data error trends – responsible for identifying trends in types of errors at each facility and facilitating communication to the appropriate personnel for remedy
• Responsible for producing and utilizing potential duplicate reports at the facility level. Requires critical thinking to support the integrity of source system databases and the MPI though the remediation (merge/link decisions) of duplicate data and related tasks. Merge decisions are made utilizing logic appropriate for each source system as documented in approved procedures and are executed through the source system.
• Communicates with staff at source system level to follow up on pended tasks or to seek assistance with merge/non‐merge decisions
• Responsible for maintaining productivity logs, performing a minimum of errors upon QA review
(2% or less). Reports task completion and errors made as required by manager.
• Demonstrates initiative in the accomplishment of work duties and follows up on pended tasks through research and team discussions
• Demonstrates awareness of the sensitivity and confidentiality of data/materials and the ability to handle them with discretion
• Maintains or exceeds established productivity and quality standards
• Promptly reports issues or trends to Supervisor

• Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
• 2 years experience in an office environment required, previous HIM or patient registration experience strongly preferred
• Health Information Management and MEDITECH experience strongly preferred.
• Horizon Patient Folder experience is a plus
