Electronic Data Interchange Enrollment Team Lead

Job Summary – The Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Enrollment Team Lead is responsible for the training, support, day-to-day workflow, analyzing and trending data, and inventory management of the EDI Enrollment staff. This includes coordination with the department manager to ensure standards are met in accordance with department and organization policy. Additionally, this team member contributes to improving the processes and infrastructure of the department. Proficient in facilitation and interpersonal communication, this team member also consistently demonstrates skills in organization, prioritization, professionalism and coaching others.

Duties (included but not limited to)
•Help ensure compliance with company and departmental policies and procedures
•Assist team members with questions and concerns
•Develop and maintain educational and protocol materials
•Train new team members
•Train team members with new processes and procedures
•Work as a liaison between team members and other departments
•Monitor inventories and coordinate workflow to ensure department responsibilities are worked and resolved timely
•Perform root cause analysis, identify potential resolution, and escalate to management
•Provide coverage as needed to appropriately manage department inventory and to meet team benchmarks and service level
•Help ensure department productivity and quality benchmarks are met
•Perform ad hoc quality reviews and audits as requested by management
•Complete special projects as assigned by management
•Communicate appropriately with department manager
•Assist manager with developing team goals and action plans
•Maintain working knowledge of workflow, systems, and tools used in the department
•Assist in creation and maintenance of a positive working environment, including effective communication and setting an appropriate professional example
•Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”

Education
High school diploma or GED required

Experience
Minimum one year related healthcare experience required, such as enrollment for electronic claims submission, remittance, money transfers, professional electronic medical billing through clearinghouse, paper medical billing, insurance follow-up, and medical payment posting. Prior experience reading and interpreting Explanation of Benefits (EOB) preferred

Physical Demands / Working Conditions– Requires prolonged sitting/standing, some bending, stooping, walking and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports or other information. Requires lifting papers/boxes and pushing/pulling up to 25 pounds occasionally. Work is performed in an office environment or hospital setting. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.

OSHA Category– The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids).
