Job Summary – The Director of Management Engineering plays a lead role in the management of productivity (daily staffing) and process improvement projects in Parallon’s Business Performance Group operations.  This includes but is not limited to developing measurement systems and tools, performing operational assessments, conducting analyses, presenting results and recommendations, and working to ensure realization of productivity goals.  This role focuses on improving operating processes and systems and increasing productivity.  The position is also responsible for complying with corporate policy and procedures, managing resources, promoting teamwork and maximizing internal and external customer satisfaction.

Duties (included but not limited to):

  • Responsible for ensuring each facility has effectively implemented BPG systems and tools for productivity management.
  • Effectively communicates new and enhanced productivity initiatives to the facilities.
  • Monitors and reports labor results on a regular basis to various audiences. 
  • Serves as communication link on staffing issues, including plans for correcting unfavorable variances. 
  • Facilitates process and operational quality improvement projects by functioning as an analyst, consultant, and/or project manager as required. 
  • Plans, coordinates and conducts studies to produce operational best-demonstrated practices.
  • Analyzes and evaluates departmental organization, processes, methods, and equipment; recommends changes or improvements based on study results. 
  • Develops methods for measuring outcomes against standards; assists in the identification of criterions and effective qualitative/quantitative measurement tools. 
  • Identifies productivity problems and issues and communicate them to the appropriate facility and BPG individuals and recommends solutions.  
  • Coordinate program implementation with facility Human Resources departments.  
  • Develop, oversee, and improve daily operations, policies, systems and procedures necessary to support cost reduction and system utilization goals.  
  • Coordinates fiscal and operational measures and processes.  
  • Establish and monitor appropriate indicators for maximum productivity, efficiency, and resource utilization.  
  • Analyzes data to determine effectiveness of programs. 
  • Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”
  • Other duties as assigned 

Job Requirements

  • Degree required, preferably in related discipline (e.g.., Industrial Engineering, Managerial Accounting) with a business emphasis.  Masters preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years relative experience
  • Six Sigma certifications a plus
