Job Description

Job Summary – The Business Analyst provides process and operational analytical support to the Medicare Service Center (MSC) leadership.  The primary responsibilities of the role are to identify key trends and exception drivers that affect the MSC’s operational performance and workflows.  The analyst will be expected to provide scheduled and ad hoc reporting to support operations.  The Analyst should be able to identify exceptions and trend those against key performance indicators.

Duties (included but not limited to):
  • Works closely with MSC, SSC, and Parallon Corporate departments to assess and report on performance and trends.
  • Coordinates scheduled and ad hoc analysis requests across all operational units
  • Assists in the development of financial data collection and measurement tools within the MSC.
  • Lead and direct the scope of CITE (Continued Improvement Towards Excellence) projects within the MSC
  • Proactively review and provide data analysis and financial impact assessments to support MSC operations
  • Prepare commentary for Monthly Operating Reviews for senior leadership.
  • Creates and supports exception‐based report generation for all departments.
  • Assist in translating business reporting requirements to development staff.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of hospital revenue cycle operations and technologies
  • Willingness to learn new strategies and practices to enhance reporting and analysis.
  • Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.”

  • Emphasis on customer-centric culture in line with a self-service mentality

  • Bachelor’s degree with focus in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other Business‐related field, required.  Preferred advanced degrees in these areas.
  • Equivalent work experience may substitute degree requirement

  • 2-3 years process engineer experience preferred
  • 3-5 years progressive analytical experience required (experience in healthcare revenue cycle preferred).
  • Six Sigma experience (Green Belt preferred)
