Assistant Director for IT&S – Richmond Shared Service Center – Full Time

 Job Summary: The Assistant Director of IT&S provides technical and managerial leadership in establishing goals and priorities and in the overall management of day to day operations within the SSC. This position is directly involved in design, planning, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of SSC infrastructure including telecommunications (as applicable), desktop and server support, network cabling and wiring and helpdesk. Ensures continuity and alignment of IT&S strategic and operational plans and SSC needs.
 
Requires subject matter knowledge across telecommunications (as applicable), data technologies, services, and components. Builds and maintains relationships with divisions, BPG IT leadership and SSC level leadership teams. Demonstrates strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. Should possess a strong personal drive and ability to see strategy through to execution in a matrixed, corporate environment.
 
 
Duties
IT Operations Management: Overall IT Operations Management, Service Level Management, Resource Management, Processes & Standards Implementation, Compliance Management, Incident Management, Financial Management, Technical Management, Information Security Management
  • Assists in development of  SSC IT&S capital & operating budgets
  • Assists in establishing, and communicates, monitors, and manages Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Coordinates the assignment of resources to IT&S projects, operations, & incidents
  • Consults with technical leaders during technical goal setting, prioritization, planning and design for SSC technical environment
  • Directly responsible for technical support – maintenance and troubleshooting of SSC infrastructure
  • Coordinates on-site management of SSC hardware & software
  • Assists in managing compliance issues & projects
  • Manages information security aspects for the SSC

 
Strategic Business/IT Alignment & Planning: SSC/BPG Strategies /IT Alignment, Strategic IT Planning
 
  • Participates in development of and execution of a SSC  IT&S plan that aligns IT with SSC business strategy and with Enterprise and BPG business & IT strategy

 
Relationship Management & Communication:  SSC Leadership, SSC Department Directors & Managers, SSC IT Users, SSC IT Staff, Vendors, SSC, Division IT Groups and BPG IT Leadership
 
  • Builds positive relationships with SSC leadership team, SSC department directors & managers, and other Division and BPG IT leaders as dictated by the business organizational structure
  • Represents IT&S on appropriate business committees
  • Owns the facilitation of multi-way communication with key constituents on IT&S matters
  • Communicates successes, challenges, opportunities, trends, and lessons regarding the SSC to SSC Director
  • Cascades all information to SSC-based IT&S staff through face-to-face meetings and other communication mechanisms
  • Promotes sharing of information through documentation and distribution of best demonstrated practices

 
Project Portfolio & Project Implementation Management: Managing the Portfolio of Work, Managing Individual Projects
  • Plans & manages individual Enterprise, BPG, or SSC projects for the SSC, including communications
  • Assists in managing, monitoring & executing the SSC’s portfolio of projects
  • Assists in supporting IT aspects of SSC projects (e.g., construction and acquisitions/divestures)

 
Process Engineering: Improvement of Workflow through Technology, Utilization of Technology
  • Understands the implications of technology solutions to SSC workflow & operations & assists in communicating to key stakeholders
  • Assists in identifying process improvement opportunities & challenges and communicating them to appropriate SSC IT Director and BPT IT leaders for planning & action
  • Participates in Enterprise, BPG, &SSC process improvement initiatives

 
Governance: Support of Decision-Making Processes
  • Educates key constituencies regarding IT governance processes & practices
  • Communicates & supports IT governance processes & practices

 
Staff Development: Staffing and Recruiting, Career Development, Mentoring and Coaching, Succession Planning, Performance Management
  • Supports mentoring and coaching) in conjunction with direct supervisor
  • Helps ensure accountability of IT&S Staff working in the SSC
  • Recruits, manages, leads, develops & retains IT&S staff in SSC, in alignment with BPG organization structure & practices
  • Adheres to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statements
  • Assists with other duties as assigned



 

Education
• Bachelor’s Degree Required
 
Experience
  • At least 3 years’ years of Management experience
  • At least 5 years relevant work experience
