The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director in this preparatory position. 

The Director of Insurance Verification is responsible for daily operations of the Patient Access Central Unit including scheduling, preregistration, insurance verification, pre-certification and/or insurance notification functions, coordinating when necessary with hospital departments from each facility associated with the Shared Service Center. This individual coordinates operations with hospital leadership representatives from each facility demonstrating strong commitment to customer relationships by taking ownership of issues and facilitating effective outcomes in a timely manner. The Director interprets policies and procedures, recommends changes as appropriate, and provides relevant feedback to SSC and the Facility leadership. Also serves as a key promoter of the SSC as a service organization which strives to meet and exceed the needs of its customers.

Job Requirements

Minimum 5 years healthcare management experience with three of these years in the related area for the position.
Emergency Department experience and the proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with Case Management and physician offices.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field required. Requirement can be waived with executive approval and for individuals actively seeking a degree.
