Accounting Manager

Job Summary – The Accounting Manager is responsible for having a detailed knowledge of the financial and accounting systems, both at the facility and corporate level. The Accounting Manager will assist the Chief Financial Officer and Controller in developing/compiling/analyzing statistical data, identifying trends, formulating conclusions and preparing complete and accurate financial and statistical reports in support of executive decision-making processes.

Duties (included but not limited to)
•Develops plans and objectives with the CFO, Controller, and Accounting staff regarding short and long range financial and accounting programs in specific areas such as budgeting, profit and loss analysis, accounting systems, reporting, and internal auditing.
•Develops financial statements, including balance sheets and profit/loss statements, analyzing budget variances and trends.
•Assists in budget preparation and implementation.
•Directs special projects in forecasting, performance to budget and financial analysis.
•Assists with the selection and training of Accounting department personnel.
•Supervises Accounting personnel’s reconciliations between designated PPMS (Physician Practice Management Systems) and Accounting systems, ensuring timely research and resolution of outstanding items.
•Manages oversight of PPMS automated processes, facilitating Accounting personnel assistance as needed.
•Oversees vendor relationships and trends.
•Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”
•Other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or business related field required.

•Minimum three years’ experience in Accounting preferred with two of these years being healthcare management experience or completion of the Parallon Manager Trainee Program.
•Experience with accounting systems, PPMS (eClinicalWorks, Epic, Practice Velocity, etc), and basic SQL and/or Business Objects query writing experience strongly preferred.

•CPA preferred

Physical Demands / Working Conditions– Requires prolonged sitting/standing, some bending, stooping, walking and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports or other information. Requires lifting papers/boxes and pushing/pulling up to 25 pounds occasionally. Work is performed in an office environment or hospital setting. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.

OSHA Category– The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Persons who perform these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid, or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
